Visitor Information Centers

Sure, they make a great pit stop, but South Dakota's Information Centers along Interstates 90 and 29 offer much more.

Visitors can speak with travel counselors, pick up brochures, check out travel CDs, and look up road and weather information on the computer kiosks. Many Information Centers can be identified by the large stone tipis. Look for them!

Travel Couselors

From mid -May to mid-September, a crew of more than 60 travel counselors staffs the Interstate Information Centers. These counselors can answer your travel questions, from how to get to Mount Rushmore to where to find the Corn Palace.

South Dakota Stories

"South Dakota Stories" is a series of CDs that covers several driving routes, including I-90, I-29, Highways 14, 212, and 12 to 83, the Lewis and Clark Trail, and the Black Hills. The CDs highlight sites, attractions and history along these routes. The travel tapes or CDs can be checked out at any of the South Dakota Information Centers.

Kiosks

Interactive information kiosks offer visitors immediate information on road construction, road conditions, and weather forecasts. All you need to do is touch a screen! Ask the travel counselors for assistance.
